Cravings: a Creative Outlet
I just received Chrissy Teigen's second cookbook from Amazon. I have owned her first cookbook, Cravings since it first came out but haven't yet cooked anything from it. I kind of have a cookbook problem. I buy them, I look at them, admire the beautifully photographed food, and then put them on the bookshelf. Such a shame.
At the same time, I also miss blogging about cooking. It's been almost 7 years! Of course, I'm not going to give you the recipes from Chrissy's cookbook(s). That's not cool. Here's what I think I will do:
1. Read the recipe and write down initial thoughts.
2. Cook the recipe (and take some photos).
3. Review the recipe and include conclusions about how it was to cook it.
If you want the recipes you can buy her book(s). Basically, I am going to use this blog as an excuse to write more, experiment more in the kitchen, and eat food I might not normally prepare.
Likely the schedule will be cooking every Sunday and publishing on Mondays. We'll see how it goes. I hope the recipes aren't too complicated!
Anyway, if anyone has any feedback along the way, I definitely welcome it. Hopefully my writing will improve and won't sound contrived. (MaryCooks was pretty fakey but, at the time, I just had all these other cooking blogs as examples where everyone had to sound like a super fucking happy housewife.)
I will be going in order in the books so feel free to follow along. If a dish or two go together I might do two recipes. That's the case with week 1 where it will be Cheesy Cheeseless Scrambled Eggs with Burst Cherry Tomatoes and Garlic-Roasted Bacon. Honestly, it's too bad I'm not doing keto because this would be a dream right now.
OK, see you on Monday with the results!
